1.5 weeks to go

About a week and a half to go before our honeymoon. It seems like it came up really fast. I mean, at this time, last year, I was researching different places to stay at National Parks and trying to come up with a route…

Now we’re leaving in a little more than a week.

Let’s see…

I booked the car, about a month ago, we will be picking it up next week, we’re renting an SUV, which should be an interesting experience since neither of us have ever driven an SUV before. But four wheel drive seemed like a necessity, as did all the extra room an SUV provides with all the camping gear and such. I’m also hoping it’ll have nifty features that both our cars lack.

I double-booked Vegas and the Grand Canyon. So I called Vegas, last night, and our hotel, and explained the situation to them, they were very understanding and says double-booking happens more often than you would think, and I made sure to stress the word “honeymoon” when I was re-making our reservation, not that I expect anything from the hotel as an extra because it is our honeymoon, but hey… what do I lose by trying?

Though that won’t stop me from going to the guest relations booth at Disneyland and getting a “Just Married” or “Happily Ever After'” button, and making Justin wear the groom Mickey ears.

I forgot we were going to Crater Lake until I was typing up the itinerary and saw we were going there on July 4th, and of course every single accommodation was booked, but I managed to get us an accommodation at a KOA that’s maybe 40 minutes from Crater Lake.

We’ve bought our tent, sleeping bags, a camping table, cots, and camping chairs, that may end up staying at home, on our balcony because I don’t think we’ll have enough room. I haven’t been camping since my sleep-away camp days, and I’m looking forward to it even though with the recent inventions of things like smart phones and iPads and such, I’m sure camping will be a lot different than back in the day.

All I need is a duffel bag for my clothes, though Justin seems to think I’ll pack my entire wardrobe and I’ll make the bag too heavy… Of course I also need to figure out how to limit my wardrobe , so I don’t take my entire closet…

I’ve also contacted our cat sitter, who we previously used, when we got married in NJ, and she’s available and willing to watch our fur babies for a month.

So… all in all… the trip is coming together?

Can’t believe it’s basically here already.

Here’s hoping Justin and I don’t murder each other 😉
